PATTS STUDENT COUNCIL

The PATTS Student Council (PSC) is the highest governing body or the supreme student organization of all bonafide college students of PATTS, the power which emanates from the student body. It is the sole, unified, autonomous and democratic representative body of the students.

The PATTS Student Council represents the students where their rights and interests are concerned. It trains students in leadership, fosters appreciation for self-government, encourages initiative and participation in the activities of the college. All bonafide students of PATTS can enjoy membership in the PATTS Student Council upon application for candidacy and winning in the election.

VISION
To become the center of leadership in upholding the rights and attending to the best interests of the student body of PATTS College of Aeronautics.

MISSION
The PATTS Student Council shall serve its fellow students with dignity, integrity, and accountability, promote student welfare, and advocate student growth through an effective approach of nurturing them into holistically developed individuals.

As the highest governing organization of the student body, PATTS Student Council strives for excellence in being held accountable for every action taken by the officers in attending to the best interest of its constituents.

As the highest governing organization of the student body, PATTS Student Council stands firm in upholding credibility in fulfilling its duty. The organization ensures that every disseminated information is correct for the PATTS Community to cultivate mutual trust and respect in every opportunity that PATTS Student Council can have.

T - Trustworthiness

As the highest governing organization of the student body, PATTS Student Council values the security of both tangible and intangible assets to continuously protect the privacy of the disclosed information entrusted by its constituents.

S - Service-Orientedness

As the highest governing organization of the student body, PATTS Student Council is committed to serving its constituents to the best of its ability. Services and programs that are offered and made to suffice the duty constituted in the organization’s bylaws.


STUDENT ORGANIZATIONS AND ACTIVITIES

PATTS College of Aeronautics through the Student Organizations and Activities Office conducts activities that enhance student social awareness and develop their talents and skills. It encourages students to join recognized student organizations and to participate in activities directed towards a rewarding student life and good citizenship.

PROGRAM-ORIENTED ORGANIZATIONS

These organizations are recognized and accredited with the academic programs. These are created to enhance and develop the skills of the students related to their field of specializations. Members of these organizations come from their academic programs.

A. Aeronautical Engineering Research Organization (AERO)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the BS Aeronautical Engineering program in this College.

Objectives:

  • To coordinate, unite, and strengthen the aeronautical engineering students for the welfare of the members and of PATTS;

  • To uphold the dignity and ethics of aeronautical engineering students;

  • To contribute to the general welfare of all its members, the community, and any person or entity who seek its assistance by employing every means to secure, maintain, offer ,and employ for them a group of dedicated aeronautical engineering students;

  • To introduce the members to the aeronautical engineering profession and to the aviation industry for exposure;

  • To undertake projects that will be beneficial to the academic and personal growth of its members;

  • To promote academic excellence among its members.

B. Airline Business Administration Society (ABASOC)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the BS Airline Business Administration program in this College.

Objectives:

  • To unite all BS ABA students of PATTS College of Aeronautics;

  • To give all BS ABA students a sense of responsibility and belongingness;

  • To encourage all BS ABA students to actively participate in programs and activities designated for self-improvement and development.

C. Alliance of Aircraft Mechanics and Trouble-shooters (AAMT)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology program in this College.

Objectives:

  • To develop and inculcate among its members the spirit of self-reliance and resourcefulness for a more meaningful participation in the campus activities;

  • To affiliate with other students and professional societies/organizations to keep abreast with the latest development in the field of aviation;

  • To engage in worthwhile projects related to maintenance, which will bring out the technical skills of each member;

  • To foster harmony, coordination and cooperation among the studentry of Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology and other students whose courses are related to aviation.

D. Aircraft Technician Organization (ATO)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the Aircraft Technician Course in this College.

Objectives:

  • To enhance and strengthen the intellectual, physical and emotional being of every member of the organization;

  • To develop integrity and discipline among its members;

  • To organize and unite Aircraft Technician students towards the achievement of a common interest.

E. Guild of Air Transportation Students (GATS)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the BS Air Transportation program in this College.

Objectives:

  • To promote and protect the interest and welfare of PATTS’ BS Air Transportation students;

  • To help in the promotion and development of air transportation.

F. PATTS Avionics Society (PAVIOS)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the BS Avionics Technology program in this College.

Objectives:

  • To unite the students of the Avionics Department;

  • To help them in their pursuit of knowledge in their chosen field;

  • To develop their skills and show their potential as future leaders of our country.

G. PATTS Tourism Society (PTS)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the BS Tourism Management program in this College.

Objectives:

  • To unite all BS Tourism students in PATTS;

  • To be affiliated with the Department of Tourism and other tourism-related agencies;

  • To develop intellectual, physical, emotional, social and spiritual aspects of each member of the organization;

  • To organize familiarization tours, seminars and workshops, and other activities for the benefit of each member.

H. Society of PATTS’ Industrial Engineering Students (SPIES)

This is the official academic organization of students enrolled in the BS Industrial Engineering program in this College.

Objectives:

  • To strengthen the bond among the Industrial Engineering students by creating activities / projects that are in line with the course;

  • To develop students’ intellectual skills and potential as future leaders of our country.

SPECIAL INTEREST ORGANIZATIONS (SIOs)

These organizations are recognized and accredited by the school to assist, cultivate, and nurture the potential, talents, and creativity of the students in their field of interests. Members of these organizations are coming from different academic programs.

Culture and Arts

Organizations that provide opportunities to develop and enhance talents, abilities, and values for appreciation, promotion, and conservation of national culture and multi-cultural heritage – i.e. performing arts organizations.

Socio-Civic

Organizations that offer programs and opportunities designed to develop social awareness, personal internalization, and meaningful contribution to nation building – civic responsibility can include participation in government, church, volunteers, and memberships of voluntary associations.

Multi-Faith

Organizations that promote and express one’s religious orientation in accordance with institutional principles and policies.

Sports

Organizations that provide programs designed for physical fitness and wellness of students that promote national, sectoral, and cultural sports activities and development.

Technical/Special Interest-Oriented

Organizations that assist, cultivate, and nurture the potentials, talents, and creativity of the students in their field of interest.

Foreign

Organizations with an international or a specific national membership, scope, and presence.

Academic

Organizations that provide programs and activities in accord with a general education subject.

GAWAD BAGWIS

Gawad Bagwis is an annual awarding ceremony for outstanding students and organizations of PATTS College of Aeronautics. Ending the academic year with various successful events and projects, the hardworking people behind the activities are worthy of recognition. This awarding ceremony is held to recognize the well-deserved individuals and groups of students for their excellent performance throughout an academic year and their years of stay in the institution.

Objectives

  • The Gawad Bagwis aims to create recognition programs to give distinction to students whose performance is exemplary not only in academics, but also in co-curricular, extracurricular, and community development activities. This program will aid in reinforcing the institution’s objectives through the following specific goals:

  • To recognize the outstanding students and organizations for their commendable holistic performance as member of the PATTS community;

  • To give value to the efforts and hard work of those who participate and organize various activities, events, and projects for the welfare and development of their fellow students;

  • To conduct a recognition day that will serve as an inspiration to students to give their exceptional performance in the coming academic years; and

  • To build and set a standard for students to make quality and relevant contributions in their years of stay in the institution.

SPECIAL AWARDS

Special awards are governed by their respective charters or a different set of rules as may be promulgated by the proper authority. These special awards are conferred to student leaders who excelled both in their leadership and academic performance. The awarding of these prestigious accolades is held every commencement exercises of the College.

Sterling Wings Award

This is a Level I award conferred to a deserving graduating PATTS student because of his invaluable services to his fellow students. He serves as their wings that carry them to higher horizons of success, a sense of leadership worthy of emulation.

Platinum Seahorse Award

This is a Level II award conferred to a deserving graduating PATTS student because of his unblemished deportment record and invaluable services to his fellow students as a catalyst of peaceful existence in the academic community and active participation in extracurricular activities in the school campus.
