Student Assistance Program / Scholarship Grants

PATTS College of Aeronautics is offering student assistance and scholarship grants to both new and old students.

ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIPS

Entrance Scholarship is given to SHS completers from the previous academic year.

A. Type of Entrance Scholarship

Full Entrance Scholar (Rank 1) - 100% discount on lecture fees
Partial Entrance Scholar (Rank 2) - 50% discount on lecture fees

Note: Entrance Scholarship is valid only for the First Semester.

B. Application Requirements and Procedure

Requirements

a) Certification issued by the Senior High School (SHS) Principal indicating the applicant’s rank and the total number of graduates in the SHS batch. The total number of graduates must be 100 or more.

b) Senior High School (Grade 12) Report Card (Original Copy).

Applicants must submit the above requirements to the Registrar’s Office on or before the end of the first semester enrollment period.
Upon receipt, the Registrar shall endorse the application to the Vice President for Administrative Affairs for evaluation.
The applicant will be duly informed once the application has been approved.

ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Academic scholarship is given to students who have at least one-semester residency and have academic excellence. Applicants for academic scholarships must file their application online via the PATTS Online Portal. The applicant should have obtained the Grade Weighted Average (GWA) required for the scholarship. The Registrar shall evaluate and endorse the final list to the Vice President for Academic Affairs. The latter shall make his recommendation to the College President.

A. Type of Scholarship

Full Scholars enjoy a one hundred percent (100%) discount on lecture fees during the next semester's enrollment.
Partial Scholars enjoy a fifty percent (50%) discount on lecture fees during the next semester's enrollment.

B. Academic and Administrative Policies

*Note:
- A minimum academic load of eighteen (18) units is imposed on a candidate for scholarship; except for the graduating students who are in their last term - the study load could be less.

2. To be eligible for an academic scholarship for the next semester, the candidate for scholarship must not have a Failure due to Absences (FA), Incomplete (INC), or Withdrawn with Permission (WP) remarks in the grade sheets.

3. All candidates for academic scholarship with Disciplinary Probation record/s will be disqualified.

C. Procedures in the Application for Academic Scholarship

The student applicant shall apply online via portal.patts.edu.ph
Application period:

First Semester - within 28 working days starting from the first day of enrollment

Second Semester - within 14 days starting from the first day of enrollment

The application shall be subject to evaluation by the Office of the Registrar and the Discipline Formation Office.
The student applicant shall be notified of the status of their application.
Qualified academic scholars must be enrolled before the start of classes, otherwise, the scholarship shall be forfeited.

NON-ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

PATTS STUDENT COUNCIL (PSC) SCHOLARSHIP

A. Rate of Scholarship

There will be a fixed amount of scholarships allocated to the PSC officers’ scholarships every semester of their term in office. This fixed amount will be divided according to the percentage set for each qualified officer as defined in the PSC’s Constitution and By-Laws.

B. Qualifications:

Enrolled in at least fifteen (15) units per semester as certified by the College Registrar;
Has a semestral Grade Weighted Average of at least 3.0 without failure or any deficiency in any subject in the semester immediately preceding the election;
Has no disciplinary record; aspirants with a pending case however can qualify to run for office, only after a recommendation from the Vice-President for Student Affairs;
Has not violated any law of the land and has not been convicted of the same;
Has established residence in school for at least two (2) semesters immediately preceding the election;
Shall not be a candidate for graduation in October of the current year;
Any student who is affiliated with any legal or illegal or subversive organization is disqualified from becoming an officer of the PATTS Student Council. Illegal associations, fraternities/ sororities groups, and organizations, whether recognized or not by the school, refer to the groups which have violated any existing rules and policies of the College and law of the land.
No President, Vice President, Councilor, or Program Representative, shall hold office or be appointed in any top two (2) positions of any recognized organizations, associations, office in the Administration or employment out of the school, and/or club during his/her term without forfeiting his/her seat in the Council;
The President, Vice-President, and Councilors can be a member of one (1) affiliated student organization, association, or club during his/her term without forfeiting his/her seat in the Council; and
No Student Council Officer shall hold a concurrent position such as Corps Commander of the PATTS ROTC, Editor-in-Chief, or any position of the Aeroscope Magazine and Contrails Yearbook or any acting headship in any recognized organization, association, and/or club without forfeiting his/her seat in the Council.

B. Qualifications

Must be a bonafide PATTS student;
Must be a full-time and regular student with a minimum load of 15 units;
Must have a semestral grade weighted average of not lower than 2.25 for editors and 2.5 for all other members of the staff in the last semester immediately preceding application;
Must not, on academic grounds, have been disqualified, put on probation, or given a grade of “5.0” or F.A. in the last semester in which the applicant enrolled before the examination. Any grade of “INC.” obtained during said semester must have been completed prior to the deadline for submission of application for the examination;
Must be of good behavior;
Must not have been charged with or convicted for any civil, criminal, or administrative case;
Must not hold any officership in the PATTS Student Council;
Must not have served the maximum term in any capacity in the Aeroscope Publication in the past;
Must pass the competitive examinations given for the purpose; and
Must be mentally and physically fit and not otherwise incapacitated.

B. Qualifications

Must be a bonafide PATTS student; but the members of the Editorial Staff must not be in the last curriculum year of their course;
Must be a full-time and regular student with a minimum load of 15 units;
Must have a semestral weighted average of not lower than 2.25 for editors and 2.50 for all other members of the staff in the last semester immediately preceding application;
Must not, on academic grounds, have been disqualified, put on probation, or given a grade of “5” or F.A. in the last semester in which the applicant enrolled before the qualifying examination. Any grade of “INC” obtained during the said semester must have been completed prior to the deadline for submission of application for the examination;
Must be of good behavior;
Must not have been charged with or convicted for any civil, criminal, or administrative case;
Must not hold any officership in the PATTS Student Council and must not be a member of the Aeroscope staff;
Must not have served the maximum term in any capacity in the Contrails Publication;
Must be physically fit and willing to do presswork assigned to him on dates and times to be determined by the Editor-in-Chief in coordination with the Advisory Board; and
Must pass the Qualifying Examinations administered for selection purposes.

ATHLETICS SCHOLARSHIP

PATTS offers scholarships to official members of the different College Varsity Teams.

The rate of scholarship is recommended by the coach, depending upon the performance in the team and academic standing of the student, to the College President through the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Qualifications:

a. For Old Students

Old students must have enrolled in a minimum of 15 units and passed at least 60% of the total academic units.

b. For New Students

Freshmen and transferees may qualify as members of the varsity team subject to the compliance of the requirements. Transferees who have played for other leagues and sports associations must first earn a one-year residency in PATTS.
All applicants must pass the try-out and screening done by the official coach. The Athletics Director will recommend the qualified applicants to the College President through the Vice President for Student Affairs.
All applicants must be given health clearance from the College Doctor.
All approved members of the varsity team must sign a Personal Undertaking regarding conditions to be followed while being a varsity player.
Membership in the Varsity Team including the scholarship grant may be cancelled and/or revoked due to the following circumstances:
Commission of major offense in the policies and regulations on Student Conduct and Discipline;
Repeated commission of less serious offenses in the policies and regulations on Student Conduct and Discipline;
Violation of policies and regulations of the Varsity Team.

ROTC CADET OFFICERS SCHOLARSHIP

A. Kinds of Scholarship

Regular Scholarship

This is offered to a Cadet Officer who has passed all his academic subjects during the current Academic year.

Probationary Scholarship

This is offered to a Cadet Officer who has received one (1) or more failing grades in the subjects enrolled during the current semester.

Note: The probationary status shall be in effect for only one (1) semester. If the Cadet Officer passes all his subjects in the Second Semester, he will be considered for a regular scholarship.

C. Guidelines:

General Policy - These Guidelines are designed to ensure discipline and orderliness necessary for the effective pursuit of knowledge and the acquisition of the desired level of performance for an ROTC officer.
Good Academic performance is one of the prerequisites for an ROTC cadet/cadette officer who may avail of the PATTS ROTC Scholarship.
PATTS ROTC cadet/cadette officer must bear in mind that one of the important objectives of his/her studies is the attainment of academic and technical excellence, and military training through the ROTC program pursuant to RA 9163.
This can be attained only through his/her initiative because the standard set by the school for each one pre-supposes maturity, responsibility, and judicious use of all opportunities provided for him/her.
At the discretion of the College President, with the recommendation of the ROTC Coordinator and the Commandant, the school reserves the right to grant or refuse a scholarship to any student who fails to give satisfactory evidence of earnestness of purpose and active cooperation in all requirements of conduct and school work.

MAINTENANCE CREW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM / GRANTS

A. Requirements and Procedures for Becoming a Maintenance Crew Scholar or Grantee

Ten (10) Days of Training without Pay
Evaluation after Ten (10) Days of Training
Final Interview

Note: If he applied before the start of classes he must enroll first to avail the Student Assistance Program

B. Maintenance crew scholarships may be granted, based on the following lengths of service:

0 – 3 mos. Salary Deduction

4 – 5 mos. 20% Discount

5 – 6 mos. 25% Discount

6 – 7 mos. 40% Discount

C. Maintenance Crew who passed all subjects enrolled in the current semester will get a 100% scholarship on his tuition fee in the next semester;

D. Maintenance Crew who failed in his subject/s will be given a 40% discount on Tuition Fee (for installment) and a 50% discount on Tuition Fee (for full payment). It may pay the remaining balance through salary deduction.

PD 577 SCHOLARSHIP

Dependents of military personnel who die or become incapacitated in the line of duty are exempted from paying tuition and matriculation fees.

9. PUBLIC RELATIONS (PR) DISCOUNT BY THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

This scholarship/PR discount is provided to qualified students of PATTS, at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
