Shimmering under the theme “Crème De La Crème: Oasis of Golds,” the Senior High School General Assembly on October 4, 2024, turned the Chairman's Penthouse into a celebration of achievement and unity. The event honored students who have excelled in various aspects of school life, while also fostering a sense of belonging among the attendees.
Attended by distinguished guests namely, Engr. Jose Eduardo S. Valdez (College President and COO), Dr. Emelita I. Javier (VP for Student Affairs), and Engr. Joy Cosme G. Amores Jr. (VP for Academic Affairs), the evening was not just a reflection of past accomplishments, but an inspiring look toward the future. Students were encouraged to build connections that extend beyond academics—bonds that would last a lifetime.
In his speech, Engr. Valdez emphasized the importance of building relationships within and outside the classroom, particularly in industries like aviation, where networks play a key role. Sharing a personal story about his son’s early exposure to extracurricular projects, he reminded the students that their first teachers are their parents. Yet, institutions like theirs create a space for learning beyond the home, expanding each student’s horizon. Engr. Valdez urged everyone to use this time not only to excel in their studies but also to understand themselves better.
Dr. Catherine M. Camposano (Senior High School Principal) offered words of reflection, pointing out how the evening was a chance to step back and appreciate the journey, especially after the rigors of exams. Her speech was an invitation for students to not only celebrate their academic successes but also to nurture the friendships they have made.
The event’s entertainment highlighted the talents of the students. A lively production number by the Senior High School Officers and Committee opened the evening, followed by a raffle featuring Starbucks gift cards. A fashion show had the students showcasing “old money” inspired looks in coffee-toned outfits, giving the evening an extra touch of sophistication.
As dinner was served, bands “That Band” and “Endangered Species” provided the evening’s soundtrack, while Tawag ng Tanghalan School Showdown Semi-Finalist Sean Pongos delivered a captivating performance.
The highlight of the night was the awarding ceremony, where standout students were recognized:
Mr. and Ms. Trendsetter: Johnryan Irnest Rosales Tolentino and Maria Angelica Fabian Decena
Mr. and Ms. Headturner: Reich Eirone Coloso Zabala and Armiella Luiz Velasquez Castillo
Mr. and Ms. People’s Choice: Reich Eirone Coloso Zabala and Arryanne Denielle Bonillo Dungog
Chancellor Leigh Jasmine S. Bautista wrapped up the evening with her closing remarks, emphasizing that while academic excellence is important, the relationships formed during these school years are just as valuable. As the dance floor opened, students were left with a sense of accomplishment and joy, ready to create more lasting memories with their peers.
