RESEARCH CONGRESS 2024
Propelling towards Innovation in Aviation
Presenting their research studies in front of distinguished panelists is one of the most important objectives of the researchers as it implies a step closer in fulfilling their goal to innovate and become problem solvers of our community. Offering an arena to its students, PATTS College of Aeronautics provided an opportunity to researchers to showcase their studies at the 2024 Research Congress hosted at the campus’ Audio-Visual Room (AVR) on February 23, 2024.
During the presentations, emphasis was placed on three categories: Engineering and Technology Cluster, Business and Management Cluster, and Faculty and Staff Cluster, encompassing a total of 17 research papers - 10 from the Management Programs and seven from the Technical Programs. Each presenter defended their respective studies as panelists Mr. Nathaniel Tiama, Ms. Emiliani Rizon, and guest panelist Dr. John Robby Robinos interrogated them, delving deeper into the methodology, discussion, and content of their research.
In the Engineering and Technology category, Brian Gabriel Gamo's paper titled 'Comparative Analysis Between Porous and Non-Porous Surfaces: Basis for Mitigating Hydroplaning' (BS Aero E) and Isabelle Joyce Taguinod's paper, 'The Satisfaction of Parent-Child Groups on Family-Friendly Airport Services at NAIA Terminal 3,' (BS ABA) were awarded the Best Paper in their respective tiers. Additionally, John Paul Dayang (BS AMT) and Isabelle Joyce Taguinod (BS ABA) were recognized as the Best Presenters in the Engineering and Technology, and Business and Management categories, respectively.
The Research Congress reflects PATTSeans’ commitment to exploring the feasibility of their research endeavors, underscoring the significance of fostering a research-oriented culture within the institution. This initiative serves to motivate students to engage in such activities, thus, enhancing aviation education and fostering academic empowerment.
