Tokyo, Japan – March 27, 2025 – PATTS College of Aeronautics, a leading Philippine institution in aviation education, solidified a collaborative agreement with the Japan Aeronautical Engineers Association (JAEA) last Thursday, designating PATTS as the official venue for the upcoming SSW Aircraft Mechanic Exam in June 2025. The signing ceremony was held at JAEA’s headquarters in Haneda. This marks PATTS College of Aeronautics as an institution committed to streamlining pathways for foreign nationals seeking careers in Japan’s aviation sector.
The agreement was formalized by Engr. This partnership underscores both organizations’ commitment to addressing the workforce demands in the Japanese aviation industry by facilitating critical certification processes for Philippine candidates.
Strengthening International Ties
The SSW (Skill Specific Worker) Aircraft Mechanic Exam is a mandatory certification for foreign technicians aiming to work in Japan’s highly regulated aviation industry. JAEA, renowned for overseeing this examination, collaborates with institutions worldwide to expand access to the assessment. By selecting PATTS as a host venue, the agreement ensures smoother logistics for examinees in the Philippines while enhancing PATTS’ role as a regional hub for aviation training.
President Valdez emphasized the partnership’s significance: “This collaboration not only elevates PATTS’ global standing but also opens doors for our graduates and aspiring aviation professionals across the region. Hosting the SSW exam aligns with our mission to foster industry-ready talent through international linkages.”
