YOUR KEY TO THE SKIES:
PATTS-FAA Flight Simulation Center Inauguration
Committed to its vision of becoming the Center of Excellence in Aviation Education, PATTS teamed up with First Aviation Academy (FAA) to construct a state-of-the-art Flight Simulation Center, equipped with a RedBird flight simulator. The simulation center was officially inaugurated last September 18, 2024.
The plan of establishing a Flight Simulation Center came to fruition as PATTS and FAA inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) last March 18, 2024, at the Subic Bay International Airport. The partnership is made to boost aviation education and provide top-tier training for the students of the institution. Apart from the simulator, the FAA will offer an exclusive On-the-Job Training Program for PATTS students. The program combines Private Pilot License Ground School Training, taught by FAA’s experienced aviation professionals, and hands-on airline training experience at MacroAsia Airport Services Corporation.
The inauguration and blessing of the new Flight Simulation Center was graced by the presence of PATTS Board of Directors - Ms. Ma. Felisa S. Valdez (Chairman of the Board and CFO), Dr. Ambrosio S. Valdez III (Vice Chairman of the Board), Engr. Jose Eduardo S. Valdez (College President & COO), Dr. Ana Mercedes Q. Gatmaytan (Board Director), Atty. Anna Katrina V. Cruz (Board Director and VP for Administrative Affairs), Ms. Jennifer Charlotte G. Orola (Board Director), and Ms. Ma. Rosa Josefina D. Fresnido (Board Director). PATTS College Officials who were also in attendance include: Dr. Emelita I. Javier (VP for Student Affairs), Engr. Joy Cosme G. Amores Jr. (VP for Academic Affairs), and Program Chairpersons of the Engineering and Technology Programs. This gathering will not be complete without the esteemed Leaders from FAA, MacroAsia, and the PTC Group - Mr. Eduardo Tan Luy (FAA Chairman, and President & COO of MacroAsia), Mr. Rhodel Esteban (FAA Board Member, and Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President - Commercial of MacroAsia), Mr. Gerardo Borromeo (FAA Board Member and CEO of PTC Group), Ms. Christina Salinas-Manzano (FAA Board Member and PTC Group Executive Managing Director), Mr. Jaime De Sequera (FAA Board Member and PTC Group CFO), Maj. Gen. Restituto Padilla Jr. (FAA President, COO & Accountable Manager), Mr. Rodolfo Dino Santos (General Manager), Maj. Gen. Guillermo Molina Jr. II (Assistant Accountable Manager) and Capt. Patrick Moran (Head of Training).
The partnership with FAA is expected to help produce aviators who are well-trained to lead the industry. Not only this, the establishment of the Flight Simulation Center will give a competitive edge to all PATTSeans. Through this state-of-the-art technology, one’s dream of flying the skies is now in the palm of the hands of every PATTseans!
