Beyond the Blueprint: A SolidWorks Showdown

In an effort to promote and celebrate the importance of design and critical thinking skills, the event entitled "Designer Kame" took place last February 28, 2024 at the campus IT Center


The event was spearheaded by the Drawing and Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (CADD) Department, with enthusiastic participation from six talented individuals enrolled in the BS Aeronautical Engineering Program. The event kicked off with Engr. Jabes Isoli, MEAM (Department Head), who emphasized the significance of the competition as a platform for students to showcase their design abilities and to demonstrate that there is a designer within each of us.


The main challenge for the participants was to recreate a given figure within a limited two-hour timeframe, utilizing the SolidWorks program. The criteria for judging revolved around accuracy, speed, and rendering quality. After a captivating display of skills, Mr. Joseph Nikolai Alfonso (2nd Year) emerged victorious, securing the first-place position. Following closely, Mr. Sean Christopher Longboy (2nd Year) claimed the second-place spot, and Mr. Khyle Sebastian Salvatus (2nd Year) secured an impressive third place .
