UNITED AS ONE

6th Aviation Student Leaders Summit Culmination

The responsibilities of a student are already tough enough on their own, but some took on the challenge of stepping out and defying the odds. Fear is truly not in the blood of PATTS’ “Aviation Student Leaders” as they took on the courage to face new leadership roles for the Academic Year 2024-2025. Last July 17, 2024, newly appointed presidents and student organization leaders huddled at the campus Audio-Visual Room for the “6th Aviation Student Leaders Summit Culmination.” The event marks the beginning of their term as leaders of various student organizations on the campus. It also featured a special pinning ceremony, recognizing their unwavering dedication and voluntary service to the student body.

It truly is a momentous occasion as it is a rare occurrence to see all presidents, editors-in-chief, and heads of various accredited student organizations in one room. The event is a testament that all campus organizations go hand in hand to amplify the voices of the student body and is a symbol of PATTS camaraderie and service-orientedness. The program began with a symposium on fostering a healthy student leader and academic life balance, which was led by special resource speaker, Mr. Angelo L. Reymundo (Founding President - The Roads to Rights Philippines). Mr. Raymundo shared his journey as a student leader and how each has a different mechanism for balancing the world of being a servant leader while acing one’s academic life. He shared that one must find an efficient and effective way to stay focused and goal-oriented, which is vital to championing the exhausting life of being a student leader.  Apart from this, Mr. Raymundo also shared the importance of aligning the goals of each student organization to the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), which is vital to establishing student-centered projects that have long-lasting impacts.

After an hour-long discussion, a ceremonial pinning was then held, marking the beginning of a new chapter for all student leaders as they stand on behalf of the student organization that they represent. Participating heads of each student organization were also accompanied by their organization adviser during the ceremony. As the event ended, the newly minted student leaders for this academic year not only carried a special pin, but a symbol of unity and an oath to advocate student welfare and amplify their voices.
