NCRAA OPENING CEREMONY

Held on the 1st of March 2024, the Philsports Arena was filled by the excited cheers of the audience during the opening of the National Capital Region Athletic Association (NCRAA) Season 30 with the theme, “Exceeding Sports Beyond Borders.” The various schools battling in the current season are: Asian Institute of Maritime Studies (AIMS), Bestlink College of the Philippines, Centro Escolar University (CEU), De La Salle University Dasmarinas (DLSU-D), Emilio Aguinaldo College Cavite (EAC-C), Lyceum of the Philippines University Laguna (LPU-L), Olivarez College, PATTS College of Aeronautics, Philippine Merchant Marine School (PMMS), St. Dominic College of Asia (SDCA), University of Luzon (UL), and Immaculada Concepcion College (ICC). Each participating institution is ready to showcase their prowess on the athletic stage.

The opening ceremony was wonderfully kicked off with an opening number from SDCA’s Dominican Sing Grand Champions and LPU Pirates Dance Troupe. Mr. Benjamin V. Hernandez Jr. (PATTS Athletics Director) was also present together with the selected PATTSeans as they watched the momentous occasion. The ceremony also highlighted the Miss NCRAA Season 30, where PATTS’ very own, Ms. Julianne Rose Reyes from the BS Airline Business Administration Department was crowned as First-Runner up. Also joined by a special guest, of which who gave a rousing speech, is the Executive Director of the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, Atty. Erika Dy. It was then followed by the Oath Taking of the athletes. The Ceremonial Toss, spearheaded by NCRAA's General Manager, Mr. Manuel "Buddy" Encarnado, marked the beginning. This was succeeded by an electrifying dance performance by ICC's cheer dancers, culminating in Mr. Encarnado's official declaration, signifying the opening of the 30th Season of NCRAA.

PATTS is expected to compete in basketball and volleyball competitions. As one of the pioneering members of the sports league, PATTSeans are hoping to once again reclaim their throne as champions and dominate the ball games.
