SAAN ANG DIREKSYON? TARA NA!
Pre-Engineering Freshmen & Transferees Orientation 2024
With the collaboration of the Aeronautical Engineering Research Organization (AERO) and the Society of PATTS Industrial Engineering Students (SPIES), the innovative event "Navigating the Unknown: Propelling Towards a Boundless Future" brought together students and professionals for insightful discussions and inspirational lectures from industry experts, focusing on the future of aeronautics and industrial engineering, inspiring participants with forward-thinking ideas.
The session began with an invocation by Ms. Althessa Marie E. Escoreal (AERO Auditor), setting a respectful atmosphere for the day. Then, Ms. Niña Elisha C. Medina (AERO President) gave her opening remarks, energizing the audience with her words of encouragement to embrace new challenges and innovations in the field.
Two inspiring guest speakers were the important highlights of the event. The first inspirational speaker was Engr. Jorainne Jost C. Razal, Project Engineer and Lead Technical Trainer at Collins Aerospace. An alumnus and former PSC President, Engr. Razal shared his journey and insights in the aviation industry as an added value or driving force for continuous learning and adaptability. The second speaker, Engr. Nikko Jake S. Peñaranda, a Business Analyst from Vertere Global Solutions, Inc., shared his experiences in industrial engineering, including his deployment at Meralco.
Also present in the event were Mr. Lisandro V. Magana, SPIES President, Mr. Lance Steven M. De Jesus, AERO Vice President External, and Ms. Julliana Marie S. Munsayac, AERO Vice President Internal, who played a significant role in the success of the event. Additionally, Engr. Denis S. Desolo (BS Aeronautical Engineering Chairperson) and Engr. Ma. Corazon P. Rubido (BS Industrial Engineering Chairperson) initiated the department's orientation, setting the stage for future advancements in engineering education.
These activities included interactive discussions, exciting games, and raffles to keep everyone engaged and to celebrate the collaborative spirit that defines PATTS. To conclude the event, a picture taking and awarding of certificates were held, symbolizing the event’s success and the bright future that awaits the next generation of aeronautical and industrial engineers.
As the event came to a close, students felt energized and actively networked with professionals. The freshmen realized that engineering involves more than just formulas; it’s also about problem-solving and innovation, thanks to the inspiring stories shared by the guest speakers. This moment captured the essence of the event, motivating students to embrace uncertainties and approach future possibilities with enthusiasm. As they look ahead, the message is clear: while the journey may be unpredictable, with determination and collaboration, they will find their path. Ultimately, when it comes to navigating the future, it’s not about the direction but the courage to take the first step. "Saan Ang Direksyon? Basta, Tara Na!"
