As we plummet from above during a skydive, numerous factors can come to mind for contemplation. From introspective musings to novel notions, there is a lot we can ruminate on.
On the 29th day of April 2023, Mrs. Kaye Anne Repatacodo (Avionics Specialist & PATTS Instructor) and Mr. Michael Janoy (Avionics Specialist & PATTS Alumnus) led the AvTech students on their skydive towards new learnings through a seminar entitled, “Learning the Power to Communicate: A Seminar on ATA Chapters 23 and 24,” at the PATTS AVR.
The seminar was engaging and informative as both speakers highlighted the importance of each. Chapter 23: Communication talked about the differences of the radio communications’ High Frequency (HF), Very High Frequency (VHF), and Satellite Communication (SATCOM). HF has a long range due to surface waves while VHF, though having a higher frequency, has a shorter range due to the propagation of space waves. While Chapter 24: Electrical Power covered how AC power is being converted to a DC power in an aircraft, and vice versa.
As the students gracefully descended with their parachutes and touched the ground, they brought back with them an abundance of newfound perspectives and innovative ideas that will undoubtedly prove valuable in the future.
