High-Flying Competition: AMT Cup Takes Off!
The BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology (AMT) students put on an incredible three-day show of remarkable skills at the thrilling AMT Cup, which took place from October 24 to October 26, 2023, organized by the Alliance of Aircraft Mechanics and Troubleshooters (AAMT). A symphony of competitions, including volleyball, basketball, and chess transpired throughout this exciting event. In the domain of skills test, participants took part in thrilling competitions including Safety Wiring, Riveting, Steel Rule expertise, and reading Vernier Calipers.
The drama surrounding the Skills Test happened on the first day of the AMT Cup. Lars Eden Luntao and Josef Lance E. Camota emerged as the undisputed AMT Cup Skills Test Champions, followed by Julliana Ellise P. Ledesma, Justin Craig T. David, Jennifer I. Ligaya, Red Wacky H. Dimayuga, and Josef Lance E. Camota, who reached the highest level of skill.
Volleyball matches also ensued, and the Ailerons dominated the court to win the title. The Turbo Smashers were in awe of their skill, while the Crabmens finished in second place.
On the second day of the AMT Cup 2023, the chess competition changed into a strategic and intellectual battleground. Albert Emmanuel T. Allado was declared the chessmaster of the competition, outwitting everyone else. Mark Justine G. Mamuad was the first runner-up, and Zeddrick Roy R. Manglar came in second.
Heralding the AMT Cup 2023's crescendo was the basketball finals that took center stage on the third day. The teams displayed unique playing philosophies, deft dribbling and passing techniques, captivating playmaking, and an unyielding energy. On the floor, fans saw a display of excellent three-point shooting, unflappable defense, inventive layups, and a stunning ability to finish games. After a thrilling championship match against Team Santos, Team Rubis emerged victorious amidst intense battle.
The AMT Cup's finale represented the height of commitment and labor. Certificates, medals, and trophies went to exceptional participants who outperformed their colleagues. An air of grandeur was added to the event by prominent attendees, such as Mr. Joselito N. Biera (Program Chairperson), and Engr. Hilbert D. Temporosa (Program Vice-Chairperson). The AMT Cup was a huge success, serving as a venue for students to demonstrate their diverse skill sets and to celebrate the spirit of excellence in addition to serving as a showcase for academic brilliance.
Then came the end of the AMT Cup, and the success rippled out beyond the venues of competition. Not only was the event a demonstration of the students’ abilities, but it also showed teamwork, good sportsmanship, and a never-ending quest for perfection. Every participant painted a stroke on the colorful picture of the AMT Cup, leaving a lasting memory that will serve as an inspiration to upcoming generations of AMT enthusiasts. The thundering ovation for incredible dunks on the basketball court, the chessboard moves made strategically, and the sideline cheers all combined to create a tapestry of accomplishment and group victory.
Motivation and ambition had a knock-on impact following the AMT Cup that went well beyond the competition. Within the AMT community, the occasion acted as a spark for the development of a culture of ongoing development and assistance to one another. Now united by common experiences, the competitors developed relationships that went beyond talent competitions and titles.
