PATTSINO! MAGPABAKUNA NA!

Vaccination drive bolsters PATTSeans against COVID-19

“Prevention is better than cure.”

These are the words popularized by Dutch thinker Desiderius Erasmus. While this phrase had been around for decades, many people still neglect its importance - but not PATTS.

On September 12, 2022, the Office of Parañaque City Health Office in cooperation with the Red Cross Youth Council of PATTS (RCYCP) piloted a mass vaccination of booster shots for PATTSeans.

“PATTSino Magpabakuna Na!” lasted from 8AM to 12PM to fully serve the pre-registered qualified students, faculty, and staff of PATTS College of Aeronautics for the first or second booster shot.

Certified 12 to 17 year old and 18 to 49 year old individuals who received their second dose five (5) months prior were qualified to receive the first booster shot. On the other hand, the second booster shots were reserved only for those in the A3 sector or with comorbidities. Persons aged 50 and above were chartered to receive either of the booster shot counts.

According to the RCYCP records, 124 members of the PATTS Community were pre-registered for the Pfizer booster shot and were required to pass through the five (5) stations across the vaccination routine: registration, screening and validation, recording of vital signs, booster injection, and observation.

The event was, indeed, a success with the help of the PATTS Student Council, Students for Outreach Activities and Community Reformations, and PATTS National Service Training Program-Reserve Officers' Training Corps. Mass immunizations like this, through the joint effort of PATTS and the local government of Parañaque, do contribute to community protection to preserve everyone’s well-being.
