PATTS welcomes its students back to the learning grounds with the roaring beats of the new students’ troupe during the Students’ Orientation held at The Chairman’s Penthouse last August 3, 2022. With the warmest greetings from the PATTS Royal Cavalry, freshmen students for AY 2022-2023, along with transferees and returning students, set foot in the school in preparation for the new academic year with the hybrid learning set-up. This event was made possible through the collaboration of the Office of Student Affairs (OSA), the Guidance Counseling and Testing Unit (GCTU), PATTS Student Council (PSC), the Aeronautical Engineering Research Organization (AERO), and PATTS Peer Facilitators (PPF).

Dr. Juan Martin B. Tuason (Admissions and Evaluations Officer) officially started the event with his welcome remarks saying, “Be thankful because you are now in college, be thankful that you are now in PATTS [College of Aeronautics], the number one aviation college in the Philippines.”

This was followed by the presentation of the video clip prepared by the Marketing Department, showcasing the college’s history and profile. Various information about the institution including the industry partners were also included.

PATTS College President and COO, Engr. Jose Eduardo S. Valdez, delivered his inspirational speech for the new Seahorses. “There are no shortcuts… Necessity is the mother of invention,” he said, emphasizing the future and advances of the school in relation to the service that PATTSeans give to the world.

“PATTS took no shortcuts in bringing the advancing necessity of the students. As the world and technology evolve in just a short time, PATTS College of Aeronautics will continue to thrive and ride the wave,” Engr. Valdez added.

A series of artistic performances by the PATTS Vocal Harmony and PATTS Dance Company lit up the stage as they portrayed the energetic aura of the seahorses. An audio-visual presentation was also shown to orient the students on the new policies that will be implemented for the upcoming academic year, which includes the health protocols, the new hybrid schedule, student uniform and proper decorum, code of conduct, and the services of various departments for the students. Certainly, the video presentations were comprehensive and very informative to provide assistance for the new students.

Then, an open forum, which consisted of three (3) phases, was laid down to end the program. The first phase was with the College Officials, then, with the Program Chairpersons and Department Heads, and last but definitely not the least, with the Office of Student Affairs headed by Dr. Emelita I. Javier (VP for Student Affairs).

PATTS Student Council (PSC) President, Mr. Kidd Daniel Panganiban, closed the orientation with his remarks saying, “Here we are right now and we are ready to proceed. Welcome to the home of the Seahorses! Today is the beginning of your college life.”
