Turnover Ceremony and Donning of Ranks

The PATTS Corps of Cadets celebrated their annual Turnover Ceremony and Donning of Ranks at the 1st Air Reserve Center, Villamor Air Base, Pasay City.


In line with military tradition, the Donning of Ranks is a recognition of the cadet officers' well-deserved efforts and achievements through promotion and further reminded of his/her higher responsibilities. LTC Ritza Ann M. Jovellanos PAF (GSC), the commanding officer of the 1st Air Reserve Center, who was the Guest of Honor and speaker at this significant event, and 1LT Marianito S. Moral PAFR, the Assistant Commandant of the PATTS Corps of Cadets, where in charge in the pinning of new ranks. The following cadet officers belong to the batch 2021-2022 C/COL Harvic John B. Loayon 1CL, C/LTC Beibruth B. Dabatos 1CL, C/LTC Peter Jann G. Legaspi 1CL, C/LTC Chris Emerson P. Otic 1CL, C/LTC Dan Paolo G. Quilloy 1CL, C/LTC Michael Ian M. Occeña 1CL, C/LTC Jesron L. The distribution of certificates for the graduating class 2020-2021 that signifies the completion of the Advanced ROTC Course was also given by the Guest of Honor and the Assistant Commandant to the following cadet officers C/COL Cedric John R. Brillio 1CL, C/LTC Ma Elizabeth R. Oblepias 1CL, C/LTC Belly Joel L. Orehuela 1CL, C/LTC Jesreel Francis G. Delos Reyes 1CL, C/LTC Kent Oliver S. Llobit 1CL, and C/LTC Paolo N. Sampayan 1CL.


The Turnover Ceremony takes place after the distribution of diplomas. The outgoing and incoming Corps Commanders engage in this ceremony, which involves the passing of the corps symbol, the saber sword. The saber sword is a long curved blade that signifies the corps' command and carries the Corps Commander's weight of duty and responsibility. C/COL Harvic John B. Mathis 1CL succeeded C/COL Cedric John R. Brillio 1CL as the Corps Commander for the Corps Year 2021-2022.


The event began with the blessing and welcoming comments of the ROTC Coordinator, Marianne M. Bartolome CCT. Thus, all cadets should keep in mind that with higher rank comes increased responsibility and accountability.
