PATTS 54TH FOUNDATION DAY

MOVING 54WARD

Hon. Eric L. Olivarez (Parañaque City Mayor) delivered his inspirational message.

Four years ago, PATTS celebrated its golden year, but little did everyone know, this institution never had a wooden or a bronze year — it always has been golden since its humble beginnings in 1969. On its 54th Founding Anniversary last March 17, 2023, with the theme, “Moving 54ward,” its light shimmered on every Seahorse’s face like the honey in the sun, the glow of morning sunlight, and water kindled with the presage of dawn or night.

The whole-day event started with a Holy Mass, presided by Fr. Breynard Peji, RCJ (Congregatio Rogationistarum a Corde Iesu). The event was graced by the presence of our Board of Directors: Engr. Jose Eduardo S. Valdez (College President and COO), Dr. Ambrosio III Emilio S. Valdez (Board Trustee), Dr. Ana Mercedes Q. Gatmaytan (Board Trustee), Atty. Anna Katrina V. Cruz (Board Trustee and VP for Administrative Affairs), Mr. Ramon B. Dumlao, Jr. (Board Trustee), Ms. Jennifer Charlotte G. Orola (Board Trustee), Ms. Ma. Rosa Josefina D. Fresnido (Board Trustee); and College Officials:  Atty. Juan Victor S. Valdez (Corporate Secretary), Engr. Joy Cosme G. Amores, Jr. (VP for Academic Affairs), Dr. Emelita I. Javier (VP for Student Affairs), and Mr. Gerardo C. Navarro (PFA President). Hon. Noel P. Japlos (Chairman of Barangay San Isidro) was also present together with PSC President, Mr. Kidd Daniel G. Panganiban.

The Eucharistic Celebration was then followed by the Opening Ceremony, with Dhon Aldrin D. Castro and Radha Marie F. Cabug as Moderators.  College President and COO, Engr. Valdez shared that this celebration is more special because through the collective efforts of the faculty, employees, and the students, our institution has responded to the challenges of the global pandemic. Indeed, PATTS is moving forward through continued accreditations, improvement in the infrastructures, higher achievements in the Engineering Board Exams, new strategic partnerships, strengthened researches, and many more.

Guest of Honor, Hon. Eric L. Olivarez (Mayor, Parañaque City) praised the accreditations and achievements of PATTS’ BS Aeronautical Engineering and BS Tourism Management Programs. He also said, “The Paranaque government is in full support of the school opening with a warm welcome,” showing his support for the resumption of full face-to-face classes.

This Foundation Anniversary was not only a time for celebration but also an opportunity to give back to our community. PATTS renewed its commitment to its adopted community, and through this symbolic gesture, PATTS pledges school supplies, a water filtration system, and seedlings for the community garden. Hon. Mayor Olivarez and Engr. Valdez led the awarding of financial support  to PATTS’ adopted communities, represented by Barangay Chairman Japlos.

Of course, the celebration will not be complete without an intermission number. Commercial Pilot Trainee and Pilot Training Instructor at Pilipinas Space and Aviation Academy Inc., Captain Ronie Liang, rendered a beautiful performance of his hit songs that wowed the audience.  Capt. Liang is also a singer, TV actor, and a host, who wished to inspire the young Seahorses to pursue their dreams of becoming a pilot someday.

The Academic Exhibit, the 7th Senior High School Field Demonstration, the Awarding Ceremony and the much awaited  Music Fest 2023 came after. The aforementioned events were jam-packed by the members of the community, alumni, and guests who proudly joined in celebrating the founding anniversary.
