FUTURE TOWARDS ECOTOURISM: 

With the theme, "Future Towards Ecotourism: The Ecotourism Management Process," the 2nd year BS Tourism Management of section 1T successfully conducted its first-ever webinar on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 via Zoom. 

Micko Samson and Kyla May Lentija hosted the event while Dr. John Ericson A. Policarpio (Program Chairperson of BS Tourism Management) embarked on the program with his inspirational message. This was followed by Ms. Ritz Ann Patacsil’s (Event Vice-chairwoman) opening remarks and Ms. Aeisha Kyle Varona's introduction to the guest speaker, Mr. Johncent M. Del Rosario (Associate Dean of the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management of FEU).

Mr. Del Rosario discussed the definition and concepts of Ecotourism, Ecotourism Management, Ecotourism in the Philippines, and its development challenges. He even quoted Sir David Attenborough saying, "Don't waste electricity, don't waste paper, don't waste food. Live the way you want to live, but don't waste time. Look after the natural world, the animals, and the plants. This is their planet as well as ours," reminding us that the small choices we make and the small steps we take can greatly impact the climate crisis.

To conclude the webinar, Ms. Chieyene Sorra (BSTM-1T Chairman), delivered her closing remarks. This was then followed by the awarding of the virtual certificate of appreciation to the speaker for sharing his knowledge and expertise. The event was also made possible through the participation of students from different schools in the Philippines.
