SHOW YOUR FACE, RAISE YOUR VOICES!

Sen. Risa Hontiveros as she gave her inspirational message to PATTSeans during the event.

Women in the institution and all over the world were gathered to celebrate International Women’s Month last March 31, 2022 via Facebook Live. Produced by Airline Business Administration Society (ABASOC) and PATTS Achiever’s League (PAL), “Get Involved. Be Informed”, aimed to recognize women in the PATTSean Community including the empowered women from different places.

ABASOC P.R.O., Ms. Rania Elseboie, hosted the event and ABASOC President, Ms. Allyssa Marinel A. Alianza, presented the objectives mentioning that women shall be recognized for their achievements, contributions and leadership roles as a citizen. “This is one of the awareness programs that contributes to having an inclusive society and we’ve been celebrating this women’s month for a couple of years”, she added.

An inspirational message from our Filipina politician, Community Leader and Journalist, Sen. Risa Hontiveros, spoke about her meeting together with other female senators to file a bill last March 8 to put women in front and at the center during public health emergencies, disasters and other similar crises.

“Women need not be empowered, we are already powerful”, Sen. Hontiveros said with a proud smile on her face. She also said that equality and equity will help us recover from the historic trauma Covid-19 has inflicted on us. After her speech, the host presented the talented students who participated in the competitions such as Essay Writing, Poster Making and TikTok. Winners were announced later on after the presentation.

In closing, Ashley Love C. Olos (PAL Auditor and Project Head) quotes, “We are involved, we are informed, we are women.” Through this celebration, PATTS students must learn to accept and educate themselves about women’s achievements, situation abilities and of course, gender equality as a whole. Happy International Women’s Month!
