2023 PATTS ORIENTATION

Empowered Beginnings: Navigating Your College Journey 

As the sun rises on another exciting academic year, sophomores and juniors from all programs of PATTS College of Aeronautics gathered on August 23, September 6 and 8, 2023, at the Chairman’s Penthouse to embark on a new chapter in their college lives, filled with endless possibilities and opportunities for growth.


Students came together for a three-day orientation, divided into two sessions. The event officially commenced with a prayer led by Ms. Josiemel E. Dela Paz (Assistant Guidance Counselor and Psychometrician), seeking the Lord's blessings for both the orientation and the upcoming academic year. Notably, the presence of esteemed college officials, including Engr. Jose Eduardo S. Valdez (College President and COO), Engr. Joy Cosme G. Amores Jr. (VP for Academic Affairs), and Dr. Emelita I. Javier (VP for Student Affairs), were acknowledged. Following this, the program chairpersons and college administrators were also recognized namely Mr. Joselito N. Biera (Chairperson - BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology and Aircraft Technician Course), Engr. Hilbert D. Temporosa (Vice-Chairperson - BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology and Aircraft Technician Course) & Head of Basic Engineering Sciences), Engr. Denis S. Desolo, MEAM (Chairperson - BS Aeronautical Engineering), Mr. Patrick John E. Villanueva (Vice-Chairperson - BS Air Transportation), Engr. Jover Boyd T. Chan (Chairperson - BS Avionics Technology), Dr. Alma A. Tan (Chairperson - BS Airline Business Administration and Acting Chairperson - BS Tourism Management), and Ms. Lodessa B. Velasco (College Registrar).


As the event transitioned into the main part of the program, Engr. Amores extended a warm welcome in his opening remarks, officially welcoming the students to what promised to be a challenging yet exhilarating academic year. Following this, Engr. Valdez delivered an inspirational speech brimming with heartfelt sentiments, emphasizing PATTS' commitment to become the Center of Excellence in Aviation Education. The program then took an interactive turn as moderators engaged the audience with trivia questions. The climax of the event, the open forum, offered an opportunity for students to raise questions and address concerns.


To bring the event to a meaningful close, Dr. Javier delivered her closing remarks, imparting valuable insights to guide the students with confidence on their college journey. The invaluable knowledge and experiences gained during this orientation will be carried forward by each student as they continue their academic journey into their sophomore and junior years, shaping them into well-rounded individuals ready to tackle the challenges that lie ahead.
