PATTSeans rose to triumph as the representing team ruled the Research Competition segment of the National Academic Competition of the 18th PIIE National Student Congress Academic Competitions on March 25, 2022.

The day-trilogy event commenced by the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers (PIIE) with the theme “UPSURGE: Pioneering Excellence in the Emerging Field of Data Engineering" comprises academic and socio-cultural competitions, panel discussions, and a career fair.

The Seahorse researchers: Chevy F. Cantua, Ferdinand C. Jose, Cyrus Kyle S. Sumat, and Jebcarlo E. Suni; made their way to the top against the top institutions of the Philippines with their research paper entitled “The Performance of Luminous Sand and Glow-In-The-Dark Paint Mixture as an Alternative Road Pavement Markings.”

The National Academic Competition featured different academic competitions such as the IE Inter-University Quiz Show, the Research Competition, and the Feasibility Study Competition, showcasing studies by different universities around the Philippines
