Another PATTS' C to C Undertaking

PATTS College officials Atty. Ambrosio V. Valdez Jr., Chairman of the Board and CEO together with the College President and COO Ms. Ma. Felisa S. Valdez recently left for Singapore to observe the facilities of the Singapore Airlines Engineering Company (SIAEC), a Maintenance Repair and Ovehaul Company. This is considered the final leg of the negotiations for a 5-year work contract with the elite Engineering Company for graduates of selected courses offered at PATTS College of Aeronautics such as Bachelor of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology, Bachelor of Science in Avionics and Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering.

The first batch of BS Aircraft Maintenance Technology graduates will be leaving on October 29, 2007. These selected 22 graduates were given the go-signal to leave for Singapore after hurdling all the requirements; the initial Pre-Qualifying Exams for Technical Training (PQE-T2) administered by PATTS College and a second Aptitude Test conducted by SIAEC Officials ; the Color Blindness test and extensive interviews by the Singaporean Officials.

This joint undertaking included an exploratory visit last July 2007 by SIAEC Officials, Mr. Vincent Chang, Superintendent of Engineering Training, Mr. Vikas Chandiramani, Manager of Human Resources. This was preceded by a series of tele-conference for over five months between the two parties. The need for settling the paperwork required to send off the graduates became the purpose of the next visit of another set of SIAEC Officers this time with Mr. Yap Hah Chai, Senior Technical Instructor of the Company's On-the-job Training Section of the Engineering Training Department, Mr. Chen Yen Hin, Production Executive of the Production Planning and Control of the Line Maintenance Division, Ms. Lin Huishan, an executive of the Human Resources and again Mr. Chandiramani. MAB International Services took charge of the POEA. Stringent Medical Exams followed. All fees were paid for by the engaging company, SIAEC.

The trainee-technicians will not only be assured of an all-expense-paid training, free lodging, competitive remuneration, but also the chance to work on the "top of the line" engineering facilites with one of the industry's recognized leaders. SIAEC's mother company, Singapore Airlines is also known for being the first Airline Company to purchase the recently-launched Airbus 380.

The second batch of BS Aviation Technology Students will be leaving on January 2, 2008. SIAEC Officials will again be visiting PATTS College this November for the second recruitment of trainee technicians.

This underatking is part of PATTS' ongoing efforts to continue its tradition of excellence. the 1st batch of trainee-technicians who are scheduled to depart on 29th October is another project of PATTS' C to C (Curriculum to Career) Program.
