A PATTSEAN again tops Aero Board Examinations

ENGR. JOHN FILEMON T. TORRES

Engr. John Filemon T. Torres, a 2007 BS Aeronautical Engineering graduate of PATTS College of Aeronautics, Lombos Avenue, San Isidro, Parañaque City, topped this year’s Aeronautical Engineering Board Licensure Examinations administered last November 20 – 22, 2007 by the Professional Regulations Commission. Since its inception in 1983, a PATTSEAN, for the 21st time, again reaped the much-coveted top slot. This 21-year-old Topnotcher is one of the five children of businessman, Mr. Filemon Torres and accountant Amabel Torres. It wasn’t really that big a surprise to the delighted parents. Graduating as the first Magna Cum Laude in the Aeronautical Engineering Department, Engr. Torres was bent on “living it up to his title”. To condition his mind, four months before the Board exam, he wrote on a piece of paper that he was going to top the exam. True enough, he ranked “first”, despite the tough schedule of reviewing after his office work as Junior Structures Engineer at the Structures and Systems Section of Lufthansa Technik Philippines, and attending his review classes at the PATTS Review Center on weekends. The PATTS Review Center is under the close supervision and guidance of licensed and experienced engineers. The new engineer will be leaving sometime in January for a ten-day training at Alteon, a Boeing company in Seattle. Engr. Torres was the VP for Internal Affairs of TSAA, Technical Subjects Academic Assistance, the 4th year Representative of his course organization AERO, Aeronautical Engineering Research Organization and a Finalist of the Inter-University Search for the Engineering Math Wizard, during his College days at PATTS.
